Horse Dissection
You will be able to dissect, touch and feel fresh tendons, fascia, ligaments, muscles, plus all the viscera too. And on an unpreserved body – very different to handling the old, preserved dissection specimens you’d see in a university.
The dissection will be on a horse, but don’t let that put you off. The tissues are identical, even if they’re a bit bigger. Sciatic nerves, biceps tendons, tendon insertions and any injuries we find will be the same as any you’d find in a human, so you’ll see it all in 3D and get your hands on it.
Every time we’ve had the rare opportunity to do one of these dissections the non-animal practitioners have been blown away by the beauty of what we see, and by the fact that it’s all 3D, not flat in a book.
Plus the horse has a number of issues (hence being put down), so we’ll be looking for those too.
