A Contemporary Approach to Traditional and Classical Osteopathic Treatment in the Elderly – Tim Sparrow

Tim Sparrow is a UK-trained, registered osteopathic practitioner, senior lecturer, and allied health professional with a research background and over 32 years of clinical practice experience. He has an extensive international education background, delivering undergraduate and postgraduate osteopathic course development, clinical leadership, and education. His teaching and professional activities include lectures, masterclasses, webinars, keynote congress presentations, and workshops for allied health professionals, osteopaths, and kinesitherapists/physiotherapists.

His research interests include post-operative osteopathic rehabilitation for patients undergoing hemilaminectomy surgery, as well as the application of osteopathy as an adjunct to exercise gaming to address sarcopenia and reduce fall risk in older adults.

Tim also has a strong interest in medical technologies, which led to the completion of a certified course in 3D, DICOM-based medical printing with an industrially recognised provider of 3D-printed prosthetics and point-of-care 3D printing, Materialise (Leuven, Belgium).

He has a particular interest in medical technologies that can be rapidly implemented at the point of care and that support remote healthcare monitoring.
