Headaches & Dizziness: the Sensorimotor Approach
Without addressing sensorimotor issues, rehab of neck- and brain-related problems is incomplete. By developing a structured approach to assessment and treatment, patients improve function and coordination, leading to better overall outcomes.
Course Overview
Sensorimotor Rehabilitation
Trauma (not just head trauma) can have a serious effect on sensorimotor structures. Similarly, neck problems affect balance, eyesight, and more. Sensorimotor rehab provides a simple, measurable means of addressing those issues.
This one-day course provides a practical, evidence-informed approach to assessing and treating the neck from a sensorimotor perspective. It combines clear, accessible theory with hands-on clinical skills to help you understand how cervical proprioception, joint position sense, eye–head coordination, and postural control influence symptoms such as dizziness, headache, and reduced stability.
Throughout the day, you will learn how to assess key sensorimotor impairments and apply targeted rehabilitation strategies, including proprioceptive retraining, gaze stability work, and progressive neck control exercises. The focus is on translating neuroscience into simple, effective techniques you can use immediately in clinical practice.
Who Should Attend?
This course is specifically designed for osteopaths, chiropractors, physiotherapists and other manual therapists. No previous experience of treating vestibular issues is required.
To ensure optimal supervision, places are restricted to 24 in total.
