Dementia and Safe Guarding – Pat Hobson

Pat Hobson is an independent nurse consultant who specialises in safeguarding adults, dementia care, quality improvement, leadership and management, and education/workforce development. Her expertise spans a wide range of sectors, including NHS Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs), NHS Trusts, local authorities, specialist neuro-rehabilitation hospitals, care homes, and private organisations. Safeguarding Adults SpecialistPat leads as an expert in all aspects of safeguarding adults, including safeguarding enquiries, adult safeguarding reviews, domestic homicide reviews, and learning disabilities reviews. She also fulfils the role of a Local Area Contact. A passionate advocate for human rights, she works to raise awareness among health and social care professionals and organisations on how to handle complex safeguarding cases. These include situations involving individuals with mental health conditions or families with no recourse to public funds, as well as other forms of abuse such as modern slavery and human trafficking. Dementia Care SpecialistAs a recognised authority in dementia care, Pat provides expert leadership and guidance across the sector. She is also the author of a book dedicated to understanding and implementing person-centred care within care home settings.

MSK Manifestation of Menopause – Petra Kamarytova

Petra qualified as an osteopath at the University College of Osteopathy (formerly the British School of Osteopathy), before going on to complete postgraduate diplomas in both Paediatric Osteopathy and Women's Health Osteopathy. She has undertaken extensive additional training in women's health, including continence, gynaecology, and the menopause. Her professional development includes observing at the specialist menopause clinic at Guy’s Hospital and regularly attending educational events organised by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, as well as the British Menopause Society. After practising in England for 8 years, she relocated to the Orkney Islands 3 years ago, where she continues to practise and gives public talks on a range of women’s health topics, including the menopause.

Dee Bell is a registered midwife, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), and a Specialist Tongue-Tie Practitioner based near Brighton, where she lives with her daughter, Florence. With over 20 years of experience in midwifery, Dee began her career training as a midwife and went on to serve within the NHS for more than 16 years. Dr Shireen Kassam is a Consultant Haematologist and Honorary Senior Lecturer at King’s College Hospital, London with a specialist interest in the treatment of lymphoma. She is also a Visiting-Professor at University of Winchester, Hampshire, where she has developed and facilitates the UK's first University-based course on plant-based nutrition. About Matt Walden   Trained as an Osteopath and Naturopath in the 1990’s   Completed a BSc(Hons) and a Master's in Osteopathic Medicine before proceeding to train in the CHEK System between 2001-2005   Worked in professional sports by 2003   Bought an early version of the Vibram Fivefingers in 2006, helped convince Vibram that their “sailing shoe” had applications in rehabilitation and conditioning.   Contributed several chapters to various medical texts and has been the Associate Editor of the Rehabilitation Section for Elsevier’s Journal of Bodywork and Movement Therapies since 2009   Presented here and abroad to post-graduate, undergraduate and various medical groups and has been a part of the CHEK Faculty since 2006.   Has written a chapter on Rehabilitation in the 2008 book entitled Naturopathic Physical Medicine

Clive Lathey is a Registered Osteopath and Sports Scientist, and is the Founder and Director of The Putney Clinic of Physical Therapy. He graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in 1983. In 2007, he obtained a Master’s Degree in Sports Medicine from the University of Surrey. After working in Australia, New Zealand and Spain, Clive has spent the last 30 years working in London.  Tim is the proud Clinical Director at Surrey Physio. He originally started working as a physiotherapist in 2000, and qualified as an osteopath in 2002 from The British School of Osteopathy, where he gained a reputation for producing superb results, and started treating his lecturers and clinic tutors. He joined the HCPC in 2005 as a Physiotherapist and achieved his Masters in Sports Physiotherapy in 2012 from Bath University. In 2017 he became a non-medical prescriber qualifying from London South Bank University, and an injection therapist, qualifying from the University of Essex.
