Lt Col Baxter studied medicine at the University of Manchester and completed a PhD in traumatic brain injury at University College London. He is a military neurosurgeon, having served in Afghanistan, Germany and Cyprus.
After training as a specialist registrar on the South Thames rotation, Lt Col Baxter completed a Cranio-Spinal Trauma Fellowship at St George’s Hospital Trust, followed by a Complex Spine and Deformity Fellowship at RNOH. He also completed the EANS Brachial Plexus and Peripheral Nerve Fellowship in Gunzburg, Germany. He was appointed as a Consultant at RNOH in January 2020, with an Honorary Consultant role at St George’s Hospital Trust.
