Dave Newell graduated from Plymouth University with a Degree in Biological Sciences and subsequently a PhD in molecular biology in 1986. The last 25 years has been spent teaching and researching in chiropractic institutions holding the position of Lecture, Senior Lecturer and Research Director in multiple chiropractic programs in the UK and Australia. He has considerable expertise and experience in teaching the natural sciences, research methodology, critical thinking as well as curriculum design, validation and accreditation of chiropractic and other healthcare related programs. He has successfully supervised at Masters and Doctorate level and has published extensively in areas related to the chiropractic profession and musculoskeletal research fields.

He has published extensively in areas of MSK related research and conservative approaches to MSK care, including the use of web based patient reported outcome methods to collect routine data during care for low back and neck pain patients

Jonathan qualified as a chiropractor in 1987 and, as one of the founding partners, has been part of Back2Health since its beginning. He works from our Midhurst clinic where he both holds clinics and oversees our NHS contracts. Jonathan chairs the specialist Pain Faculty of the Royal College of Chiropractors and is a visiting academic and research fellow at the AECC college in Bournemouth with many publications to his name. He was the 2012 recipient of the “President’s Award” from the Royal College of Chiropractors in recognition of his support to the College and work in promoting transparent and patient-centred care within the chiropractic profession.
